Assume Nothing

Develop a comprehensive Zine with a focus on authentically depicting the LGBTQIA+ community in Cardiff. The Zine will feature a minimum of five narratives from community members, presented in a dynamic and creative format that honors the tradition and essence of zine culture.

Brief

Concept

"Assume Nothing" was a zine dedicated to providing a platform for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to share their authentic narratives, free from the biases or tokenism often prevalent in mainstream media. Many members of the community have concealed their true selves, adopting personas as a means of self-preservation. However, "Assume Nothing" aimed to foster self-discovery within the community while inspiring others to embrace their identities beyond gender and sexual orientation.

Utilizing scans of assorted objects, the zine underscored the importance of avoiding assumptions about individuals.
